As the seasons change, so do some of the children who come to play. We say a sad goodbye to those who have left and now welcome those new children and their families.
SPRING IS HERE

Spring has sprung. The days are getting longer, the beautiful daffodils are proudly standing to attention and renewed energy is in the air.
We received our first taste of spring this week, and it was glorious. It's amazing what a little vitamin D and being outside does for the soul. We can't help but smile at the pure joy as the sun peeks out. It is the perfect time for us all to get outside and explore the wonders of nature.
Be Curious. Be Engaged. Go outside and discover the magic of Spring.
As Spring reawakens, it warms the soil and life returns outside once again. The best way to introduce children to flowers, insects and vegetables is to first experience them in real life. Spring is the ideal time to plant a seed and witness the growth of magic firsthand. and the children will be planting flower seeds and vegetables which they will nurture and observe its progress.

Spring also offers a feast for the senses, children will be encouraged to focus on the sights, sounds, smells and textures around them. Can they feel the sun on their skin? Hear the buzzing of the bees? Smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers? Hear the sound of the birds? And lets not forget about the worms, they may seem like slimy creatures but they play a vital role in our ecosystem, consuming our food waste, aerating the soil and replacing precious nutrients.

Turn an everyday walk into an exciting adventure with a nature scavenger hunt, grab a bag and see what you can discver. Such amazing springtime treasures just waiting for your child to find, like different coloured leaves, flowers or interesting rocks and stones. This encourages observations skills and teaches them about the diverse life around them.
SPRING EQUINOX
The Spring Equinox happens on the 20th March and is a sacred moment of balance when day and night are almost the same length. After this point, the days begin to feel longer, the weather gradually becomes warmer, and we start to notice more signs of spring appearing outdoors.

It’s often described as the moment when spring officially begins — and it’s a wonderful way to help children connect time, nature and the world around them. Children often notice the changes before we even mention them. Spring feels different because:
The days are lighter for longer
The weather starts to warm up
Plants begin to grow again
More animals become active outdoors
We hear more birdsong and see more life in nature
These are powerful real-life observations that help children build early scientific thinking — through experience, not worksheets.

TORTOISES
All of our tortoises have now woken up in the garden from their hibernation, and the children are very excited as they watch them pop out from the soil and discover those tasty dandelions.
