Nurturing Environment

To create a calm and nurturing atmosphere that encourages children’s engagement, self-confidence, and positive social interactions. To focus closely on nature and the impact that nature has on our mental and physical wellbeing.

Curiosity Approach

I am currently working towards ‘the Curiosity Approach’ Accreditation.  The Curiosity Approach promotes many different pedagogies relating to child development and highlights the ‘awe’ and ‘wonder’ around learning and the environment; aiming to create ‘thinkers & doers’ by putting your child at the centre of their own development and education.

Natural Resources

Open Ended Resources

Loose parts have no fixed outcome, which means there is no right or wrong way to play or use these items.

This in turn ensures that learning is not prescriptive with adult determined outcomes.  The children are not told how or what to think.

Pedagogy

Our pedagogy emphasizes time to play, space to explore and freedom to choose.  Children are exposed to a rich variety of materials and resources that engage the brain such as touch, sight, sound and smell.  This helps them form the neural connections in their brain that will become the foundation for their future learning and development.

Children are also encouraged to focus on independent learning at their own pace.  This helps foster a sense of reliance and confidence which provides them with a strong sense of self esteem.  By encouraging children to make their own choices and decisions, allows them to take control of their own learning and development.
